The Ohio Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled (OLBPD)

The Ohio Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled is a partnership with the State Library of Ohio Talking Book Program and serves as the Regional Library for the Library of Congress’ National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. OLBPD administers a free library program of braille and audio materials circulated to eligible borrowers in the State of Ohio by postage-free mail. OLBPD and the State Library of Ohio Talking Book Program received the 2010 National Library Service Network Library of the Year Award.

Monthly Legal Aid Clinics

With support from the Foundation and in partnership with Legal Aid Society of Greater Cleveland, the Library hosts monthly clinics at neighborhood branches. Through these clinics, Library patrons have access to free legal advice regarding civil matters including from child welfare and custody, domestic violence, exclusion from school, foreclosure, and equal employment, helping them successfully navigate challenges that could otherwise threaten a family’s stability.
